This traditional property features a generous courtyard garden, but the space felt underused and exposed. The brief was to create a refined outdoor area that respected the character of the home while providing a comfortable setting for relaxing and entertaining — without compromising the openness of the garden.
We designed a contemporary outdoor living zone centred around a Renson Camargue pergola, carefully positioned to complement the existing architecture rather than compete with it. A detailed visual design allowed the clients to fully understand the layout and proportions before work began. Porcelain paving was introduced to unify the courtyard, while glass sliding panels were specified to provide shelter when needed without blocking light or views. We managed the project end-to-end, coordinating groundworks, electrics and installation to ensure a seamless build.
The finished space blends modern outdoor living with the elegance of the property. The pergola now offers a versatile, year-round seating area — open and airy in good weather, protected and inviting when conditions change. What was once a largely transitional space has become a destination within the garden.
Outcome: A timeless outdoor room designed for everyday enjoyment, whatever the season.
