Wood-fired pizza oven, bespoke outdoor kitchen & bar, handmade concrete worktops, integrated appliances, covered structure
The starting point for this project was simple — the client knew they wanted a wood-fired pizza oven. As the design process evolved, it became clear that the oven should sit at the heart of a much larger entertaining space: somewhere to cook, host and spend long, relaxed evenings with friends and family.
The entire layout was designed around the wood-fired oven, ensuring it functioned as both a practical cooking feature and a visual focal point. We worked closely alongside Jay at Bushman to design the space in tandem with the oven itself, allowing proportions, clearances and workflow to be considered from the outset. Bespoke cabinetry, handmade concrete worktops and integrated appliances were carefully positioned to support social cooking and bar-style seating. A covered timber structure was introduced to provide shelter and define the space without enclosing it.
LOD designed and installed every element of the project, coordinating all aspects to deliver a cohesive, well-balanced result.
What began as a single feature has become a fully realised outdoor entertaining area. The finished space feels purposeful, sociable and easy to use — with the pizza oven naturally drawing people together while the surrounding kitchen and bar support effortless hosting throughout the seasons.
Outcome: A considered outdoor living space designed around one key idea — and elevated into something far more.
